Global battery leader CATL to develop projects in Mongolia

Prime Minister N. Uchral met with Robin Zeng, Founder and Chairman of CATL, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, China.

The two sides discussed cooperation on projects supporting Mongolia’s energy transition, including battery energy storage, battery recycling, and value-added manufacturing.

They also discussed opportunities to develop battery supply chains, including the processing and refining of battery-grade raw materials, component assembly, recycling, and technology cooperation.

Prime Minister N. Uchral noted that the projects would help strengthen Mongolia’s energy system, support the wider adoption of renewable energy, and lay the foundation for future industries such as electric mobility, green data centers, and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
