Prime Minister N. Uchral met with Ban Ki-moon, the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations and President and Chair of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
Prime Minister N. Uchral congratulated Mr. Ban Ki-moon on the successful organization of the Fourth Trans-Altai Sustainability Dialogue and thanked him for his continued support for Mongolia’s sustainable development efforts.
The Prime Minister highlighted the strengthening partnership between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea and welcomed the upcoming state visit of South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to Mongolia as the guest of honor for the Naadam Festival.
Prime Minister N. Uchral also outlined the Government’s economic reform agenda to improve the business environment and attract investment, while emphasizing the importance of Mongolia hosting COP17 of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification this August.
The two sides discussed expanding cooperation with GGGI, particularly in implementing Mongolia’s newly adopted Climate Change Law. They noted that strengthening the legal framework for cooperation with GGGI would support Mongolia’s green transition and help mobilize international climate finance.
