Mongolia’s first Green Station, an integrated highway service station with EV fast charging, traveler facilities, and retail services, opened in Khutag-Undur soum, Bulgan Province, under the Government’s “Unlock” initiative.
Prime Minister N. Uchral said the project demonstrates the Government’s efforts to encourage private investment through regulatory reform and public-private partnerships. He added that a nationwide network of Green Stations will expand EV infrastructure, support local businesses, and reduce reliance on imported fuel.
The Government plans to establish 500 Green Stations across the country over the next two years, including 40 EV charging stations before COP17 in August 2026.
According to Government estimates, the initiative could support 50,000 electric vehicles by 2030, reduce fuel consumption by 300 million liters over five years, and save approximately USD 200 million.
